Plastic Metaphor is more than just a project; It is a personal vision that intertwines my graphic design skills with my love for painting, all while being inspired by the fashion industry. The concept of Plastic Metaphor stems from a profound experience during my adolescence. Growing up in Spain, I was captivated by the influx of American culture through television series and iconic products that painted a vivid picture of life in the United States, particularly New York City.

The 80s, 90s, and early 2000s were a time when African American culture, with its rich and dynamic expressions, left an indelible mark on my memory. The music, fashion, and art from this era and cultural context became a wellspring of inspiration for me. Plastic Metaphor is my homage to that cultural tapestry, a blend of nostalgic elements and contemporary expression.

In Plastic Metaphor, I merge the structured, commercial aspects of graphic design with the freeform, emotive nature of painting. Each piece in this collection reflects a dialogue between these two disciplines, creating fashion products that are not just visually appealing but also narratively rich. My paintings within this project echo the vibrant, energetic spirit of New York's past, while my graphic designs bring a modern, polished edge to the creations.
Oil painting remains my sanctuary, a place where I can delve into personal expressionism and explore the depths of my artistic soul. It is in this medium that I find the freedom to articulate my inner world, and through Plastic Metaphor, I share that world with others, blending the past and present, art and design, into a cohesive and compelling narrative.
